Schlusnus Er ist's 1928 by Emilio de Gogorza
Wieder flattern durch die Lüfte;
Süße, wohl bekannte Düfte
Streifen ahnungsvoll das Land.
Veilchen träumen schon,
Wollen balde kommen.
Horch, von fern ein leiser Harfenton!
Frühling, ja du bist's!
Dich hab' ich vernommen!
I just learned through Wikipedia, that this is one of the most frequently cited German poems. Here in this part of Germany where I live, there is a fine sunny spring weather, and it always reminds me to that song of Hugo Wolf. My translation:
Spring lets his blue ribbon
fluttering through the air again.
Sweet unknown scents full of foreboding
are touching the land.
Violets are already dreaming,
want to come soon.
Hark, from the distance the soft tone of a harp!
Spring, it's you!
I have heard you!
